Curious about what yin yoga is? Come join us and find out! It is a slower paced and more meditative style of yoga that focuses on myofascial releasing, rather than muscle stretching. By holding each pose for 3-5 minutes, it aims to release stresses and tensions around connective tissues and ligaments, where humans subconsciously tend to store their physical and emotional stresses. It is suitable for all levels, even those who have never done yoga before. Most people experience better sleep after yin yoga.
You don’t need any equipment for the class but it will make your experience more comfortable if you have the following:
1) yoga blocks (alternative thick books); and
2) stretch band (alternative scarf/long towel); and
3) cushions or pillows.
The class will be taught by Grace Chang, who is a certified RYT 500 hours teacher and has been teaching yoga since 2015. As a Taiwanese in Australia, Grace teaches yoga classes in both Mandarin and English. She also offers an online coaching program ‘Functional Pain Free Body’ to help people get out of chronic pain, and master a press handstand if interested.
