About the event
Do you have a story that you’d like to preserve for future generations? Are you curious about a family member’s stories from the past?
The Taiwanese American History Project aims to bridge the gap between generations, following the belief that fostering our intergenerational connections is vital to maintaining and cultivating our Taiwanese and Taiwanese American culture and identity. By conducting history interviews, we hope to allow families to strengthen their connections and keep records of their family history for future generations.
This is a *FREE* service for families. We are looking for families to participate in history interviews, with a member of the “younger generation” interviewing a member of the “older generation.” Participating families will receive:
- Resources and support throughout the history interview process;
- A guided history interview, to be scheduled and conducted at the Taiwanese American Community Center;
- A 1-2 hour video recording of the history interview;
- A gift for your participation.
We are currently scheduling history interviews for June 2024:
- June 8th 1-5pm
- June 15th 1-5pm
- June 22nd 1-5pm
The Taiwanese American History Project is a collaboration between Taiwanese American Professionals-San Diego (TAP-SD) and Taiwanese American Foundation of San Diego/Taiwanese American Community Center.
