Our Story
Taiwanese American Professionals (TAP) was created in 1991 as a program of the Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL), to respond to a need of providing a network for young professionals interested in preserving Taiwanese-American heritage. As the demographics and shape of the Taiwanese American community shifted, founders saw a need to engage the emerging population of young professionals who needed a network to be used for the advancement of the Taiwanese-American community, as well as the individuals who make up the community. Today, TAP is the largest network bridge of Taiwanese-American in the greater Los Angeles area, serving hundreds of professionals. Since its initial founding in Los Angeles, TAP chapters have been founded in several other major cities across the United States, including San Diego. Our programs are focused around 4 key pillars: Social, Community, Professional, Culture.

TAP-San Diego was created in 2008 to serve the specific needs of the younger Taiwanese-American professionals residing in San Diego. Our programs and activities will serve to unify the Taiwanese American community, assist professionals in their professional and career enhancement, and empower our members to re-engage Taiwanese-America as community-oriented leaders. TAP-SD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization through its parent organization, Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL).
