President – Grace Lin Grace is an International Business Development Manager for a cloud based technology solutions company where she focuses on company strategy, operations, and global expansion projects. Prior to her current position, Grace worked as an internal consultant within the same company. She also has external consulting experience at a large consulting firm. She received her undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and her MBA from UCLA Anderson. After experiencing both the San Francisco Bay Area and Greater Los Angeles, she resolved to round out her tour of California living by moving to San Diego in 2011. Throughout her life, she has been dedicated to giving back to her community and is enthusiastic about sharing her culture and experiences with others. When time permits, Grace enjoys trying new recipes, exploring scenic hiking trails, attempting to surf, and feeding her fiction addiction.
VP Internal Affairs – Wani Chen Wani is a financial services professional who works with individual and small business on their financial and insurance planning. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Marketing. During college, she worked as an executive intern at Target and enjoyed most when a new clothing line launched and she could buy before everyone else. Wani enjoys reading, traveling, and going shopping with friends after a long day of work. But what she really loves to do is being around her husband, James. Wani and James got married in the summer of 2007 and you can often see both of them at TAP events!
Secretary – Kenneth Fu Kenneth works in the aerospace industry, developing technologies to make this world a safer place. He got his B.S. degree in Physics and a Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Prior to working as a scientist, he worked in the music industry as a musician and taught guitar and music theory at Yamaha Music Centers. In his free time, he enjoys reading, swimming, cooking, learning new things, thinking about questions that no one cares about, and spending quality time with his 10-year-old Chihuahua.
Treasurer – Jimmy Chen Jimmy works as a mortgage real estate professional in San Diego. He has been in San Diego since middle school in the Carmel Valley Area. He enjoys outdoor activities such as basketball and tennis. He graduated from UCSD in Management Science, and has worked in the financial industry for over 5 years. He has been living in San Diego for over 10 years and is really familiar with the San Diego Area.
Historian – Jusuan Lee Jusuan works in operations at LPL Financial in the Money Markets department. He graduated from University of California, San Diego in Management Science. Hobbies include reading, catching up on TV shows, gaming, and the outdoors.
Community Service Chair – Julia Kao Julia is currently a reading specialist who helps children with speech impediments and reading disorders. She enjoys working with kids and engaging in opportunities to help support the community. She came to San Diego straight from Taiwan in 2010 and started her relationship with TAP-SD not long ago. She has been loving the experience and felt fortunate meeting all the great people. In her free time, she enjoys modern dancing, listening to music and going to concerts, traveling, and exploring local restaurants.
Cultural Chair – Aileen Tseng Aileen was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She graduated from University of California, San Diego with a degree in Communications. Not long after graduation she traveled halfway across the world to study and work. Her stint in Asia helped her appreciate the joys of traveling but her homesickness brought her back home. Back in San Diego Aileen enjoys volunteering for TAP-SD, as well as planning parties, trying new restaurants, and of course–traveling!
Co-Professional Chair – Chris Lin Chris is a Broker Associate and a Certified Negotiation Expert for Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices (formerly Prudential CA Realty) located in Del Mar. After college, Chris entered the real estate industry working for developers in Marina Del Rey and Beverly Hills. She supervised the management of income properties and asset managers in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties. Once Chris relocated to San Diego, she found her passion in real estate sales selling new and existing homes and investment properties. Although Chris lives in Carmel Valley, her clients and referrals are located throughout San Diego county giving her the opportunity to sell properties in different neighborhoods. Chris’ high standards combined with her impeccable work ethics and negotiation skills have afforded her the opportunity to be the recipient of several awards of excellence through the years. Chris was born in Taipei, raised in Brazil and New York. She is an avid cyclist and she finds time to give back to the community when time allows.
Co-Professional Chair – Jimmy Wang Jimmy works as a RF/mmW design engineer at a startup company in San Diego. He received the B.S. and M.Eng. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Cornell University and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from UC Irvine. He moved to San Diego in 2012 and have since been involved with TAP-SD.
Social Chair – William Chou William is a Taiwanese Canadian American engineer employed by Qualcomm. An enthusiast of beer and wine, William has found his calling as Social Chair of TAP-SD.
Technical Chair – Amy Fan Amy is currently a freelance software developer with startup projects on the side. She received her B.S. in Computer Science at Washington University in St. Louis. Some of Amy’s hobbies include playing taiko, editing video, watching live music, taking pictures of mundane things, and exploring the outdoors of her classy hometown.
Advisor – Christina Wang Christina is part of the Strategy department at EEDAR, working with clients in the video game industry. Previously, she was a Business Analyst at Cricket Communications and J.P. Morgan Chase in New York. Her extra-curricular activities include traveling the world, reading manga, and making healthy lifestyle choices. Hailing from Houston, Texas, Christina completed her B.S. in Computer Science at the University of Texas, at Austin and is currently an MBA Candidate at UCLA Anderson. Her involvement with TACL/TAP includes being President of TAP-SD from 2011-2013 and Director of New Chapter Development on the national board starting in 2013. Interesting fact about her is that she enjoys singing Chinese songs at karaoke.
